This is our most frequently requested inspection, meaning we can complete as many as 250 per month. We are able to receive our written instructions by fax, email or post and endeavour to inspect all vehicles within 48 hours of receipt of that instruction. We then forward the completed report 24 hours thereafter. All our reports are ABI and CPR compliant, meaning no further questions will be asked from you nor the receiving party.

Most people require these inspections when they have bought a damage repaired vehicle and want to re-insure it. Many insurance companies insist on the vehicle being inspected after a repair to make sure that the vehicle has been repaired to a roadworthy standard. Please check with your insurer to see if they require it as it could jeopardise any future claims.

Davies & Gray are specialists in all types of mechanical failure. If your vehicle has suffered from mechanical failure and you are attempting to claim from the selling garage or one of their warranties, please call our engineer to discuss the claim. Trading Standards will advise you to get an engineers report before persuing any legal action.

Diminution basically means diminished value. This may arise after a vehicle has sustained accident damage and subsequently repaired. It is often difficult to re-instate a vehicle to its pre-accident condition especially if welded panels have been replaced or the vehicle has been straightened on a jig re-alignment system.

Car dealers often deduct 10-25% from the vehicle's value after finding out the vehicle has been damaged and subsequently repaired. However, Davies & Gray feel that every vehicle should be inspected and assessed on it's own merit as many vehicles do not warrant a diminution claim. Please remember Diminution Claims can only be considered in non-fault accidents.
